Hi first post, and im a bit of a noob when it comes to computers but here goes:

I have an A7A266-E ASUSTeK motherboard with an AMD atherlon XP1900+ proccessor, i am using 512mg ram and wish to upgrade AMD,and add some more ram.I mostly use this beast for playing counterstrike but my wife uses it to run Avis express DV (which seems to run ok,but is a bit slow on rendering) any ideas as to what the best upgrade route is...can i put a faster prossesor in it??

yuo COULD..put a new processor on it up to..XP2200 and MAYBE even XP2400, but then you will lose some performance too. Honestly, IMO if you are upgrading from an XP1900, might want to consider XP2500 Barton and up with a new mobo (Asus A7N8X-X or -E Deluxe if you wish to stay with Asus) and get some DDRam. Depending on where you buy your gear, the cost will range from $400-$550 CDN..browse pricegrabber, see what they are offering at this time.
