The best out there in alot of opinions are the Thermalright sp-94 and the Swiftech MCX4000. Or if you want an easier install the Swiftech MCX478-V. Any one of these products will serve you well.

Yeah the vantec model #TD9238A would be about the best. There are others out there that move alot of air too. So shop around and find one that suits you. If you do go with a high cfm fan I would suggest getting a fan controller too. Than way you can turn down the fan when maximum cooling isnt required, so that way you can turn down the noise.

And for the future you should post in the appropriate forum. This is a cooling question and should have been placed in "overclocking and cooling"

i have a vantec on my p4 2.4c and it moves a lot of air. i like it, although it too is a little noisy... though nothing compared to my volcano. the volcano is on my xp 2500 +, and it is loud, although you can adjust the speed... but for cooling, it is top notch.

the 80mm tornado is acually a little better because it puts the air in a more consintrated area... but the difference is only 1 C or less.

Another fan to look at is the TMD (Tip magnetic Drive) Fan. Very quiet and doesn't have the dead spot under the center like the conventional fans do.

Don't get those, hell no!

Get a standard copper heatsink and fan.

I agree with nathan..sometimes the more u add to it, the less affective it is..just get something simple and works ...is all u need...

I just purchased the *Limited Edition(2004 available)* 18k gold plated heatsink deep impact(dp-102) from Aerocool. It should be coming soon i'll let you know my thoughts and temps with it(as if anyone cares)? So far from the reviews they have all said great cooling but heavy and large in size. What is cool about it though is that you can attach 2x60/70/80mm fans to it. Also if anyone wants a really cheap *used* hsf I am selling a Coolermaster Jet4 and a TT spark 7. If interested gimme an email... almightydingis@yahoo.com

Watch the weight on your socket.

Heavy heatsinks are known to tear them right off the board.
