Reserved system space

After using norton ghost to restore my system it left a large amount of green and white reserved system space. Is there any way to remove this wasted space?

if you didn't get ghost to properly size your disk as you were applying the image, you may have some unused space.

is that what you are talking about?

when i defrag with diskeeper it shows the reserved system in white with green striping . can i remove it?

im guessing probably 8 or 9 gig.
