hey i am AIM ( aol instant messanger).. i am about to take this computer off line and put my new one up and the problem is i cant figure out my passoword..
i was wonderin if there was a program out there that would give me my passowrd... this sucks and i really want to get my other pc set up.

I don't think there is one.

Logoff AIM and try your usual password list.

just try copying all the aim files over the other computer, that should work

so if i burn all the aim files i got on here - then completely dealte is from the other sys it should send the password over to it...

i am giving this computer to my sis so i wanan do a sys restore on it next wk

No, copying files is just that, there is no intelligent "sending of the password", and deleting the old files is simply that, also. But your password is probably in a cookie, so if you copy the folder, C:\Documents and Settings along with all the AIM files, your auto-login may still work on the other computer. But it would be easier to just ask AIM to resend your password by telling them the email address that you signed up with.

Gorilla, not everyone wants to change their sn.

pat, I would try burning then putting the aim files on the other system, then seeing if it works. before deleting the aim on the old one, because if it doesnt, then you my friend are s.o.l. If it does then fine, if not i would try to retrieve it from aim.

if worst comes to worse and u have to get a new s/n, don't write them all down. use the save your buddy list option. much MUCH easier than writing them all down. try burning all the files as previously stated. if that doesn't work, email AIM to see if they can send u the password. good luck.

Umm i thought that aim passwords are like realy really encrypted? And i didnt think you could just copy and paste files? I was under the impression that you had to download some sort of file to get password already saved to your comp.
