dual channel features 2 64bit memory controllers. okay. got it.
so what about this "the 128-bit memory controller integrated on chip provides up to 6.4 GB/sec bandwidth for system memory" phrase from abits site?
a fake or what?

my machine:
AMD 2600 (333)
2x 512mb Infineon DDR400 CL3 (Timing by SPD)
Abit NF7-S v2.0
...just transfers 2,2 GB/sec.

dual channel ist probably active because bios says so at startup
i have tried alternate timings and fsb speeds but it makes 100mb/sec difference. one thing i haven't tried is overclocking the cpu fsb to 400.
any ideas?

big thanks

are they both in the right slot for Dual channel support?
sounds to me like your stuck in 64bit mode....
try updating the bios as well

if u have a cpu w/ a 166 bus, it should overclock to 200 mhz, easily with your 400mhz ddr ram. for the dual channel, make sure the memory sticks in the 1st and 3rd slots. if you do not want to overclock the processor, then you may want to use a divider to run the ram at its stock speed. this can be found in 'soft menu' in the bios. set the divider to 5/6 if u want a 166fsb and memory to run at 400mhz ddr. otherwise, the processor should run at 200mhz fsb pretty easily when voltages are bumped a bit.

"stuck in 64bit mode" indeed, thats the one thing im pretty sure of.
newest bios and nforce drivers are on.
3 slots on my board, tried both combinations 1st&3rd and 2nd&3rd
i have downclocked my rams to 333mhz by setting the FSB/RAM ratio to
3/3 and thats what sandra says:

@JayDubya
1st and 3rd slot - check
5/6 ratio - check
dualchannel ddr400 - check
128bit mode - nope, improved performance: 2,3 GB/sek.
thx anyway!

Do a memory benchmark with Sandra.
