well after some good help and my past few weeks of research i ordered a mobo and a P4 2.4G...this first building adventure should be fun
...anyways im looking at getting a brand new Hard Drive..size of atleast 60Gb...are their specific specs to look at? and is their a big difference between a 2MB Buffer and an 8MB? is that the biggest spec?
thanks guys. |

first make sure your board supports whatever HD your getting(66, 100, 133, etc.)-SATA--SCSI--RAPTOR
and yes 8mb would make it a bit faster for a while until the buffers full so yea 8mb is better than 2mb.
so i'd say you should get a 100/133 HD w/ 8mb. and 2 40 gigs for raid if you have that feature. |

Congrats, Brahma ! ! ! Too late to chicken out now, brother. In a couple weeks, you'll be the swami of assembly, the conquistador of configuration, and the envy of your entourage. Well, maybe not that last one. There's a lot of hard drives to pick from, and except for the raptors and scsi drives, they're not priced much different, so assuming you can't go for the raptors, an 8meg, 7200rpm sata drive is a good choice. If you find a great deal on an 8meg, 7200rpm pata drive, though, that would also be a great choice. |

mogur don't come to conclusions
we have to see how much money and space he has and needs.
BrahmaBull how much are you focused on spending. round to the 10's
and how much HD space do you want. |
