I am looking for a new comp since my P3 600 is well a relic now.

I am unsure of a couple things so I will tell what I am sure of.

P4 2.4 533fsb 199.99
512 corsair 333 155.99

(gee not really sure bout anything)

What I am needing is some good info on what mobo would go well with the ram.

Of course I am on a fixed budget so trying to keep it low. Also I was thinking of using my old case to keep from having to buy one (but dont think power supply will work on it)

I ahd looked at the asus p4b533-v but that board and most 845g boards have a problem using more than 1 ddr chip.

SOO mobo is the big issue here. with a case/ps and vid card folling close behind.

thanks for any and all input

If your looking to go cheap, why don't you take a look at AMD. The processors are much cheaper and they are comparable to Intel. If you go with an AthlonXP 2000+ and an Abit KD7-333 motherboard you should be set and it will probably be less than $300 for all that. Combine that with a Ti4200 and your in business for much less than an Intel system.

I also agree, Antec Casings are the best you can get. I just bought a Plus 1080AMG Case from them and I love it. It's very quiet and it comes with a great power supply.

I agree with Valnutrian, The AMD system would be really fast without the cost. You won't see a difference.

Sorry about that, the Motherboard model is the KX7-333 and if you want RAID then it's the KX7-333R.
