| I was debating whether to keep my clunker 15" CRT NEC monitor, or go and get a sleek new LCD. Well, the other day, CompUSA was running a special on a 17" LCD, that was normally 470, but had it for 300. I bought it. It's the KOGi 17 Inch L7CH. It doesn't have a DVI, but the analog looks so sharp! There is absolutely no ghosting whatsoever, and the only problem I had was figuring out how to recommend it. This is a relatively cheap LCD, and if digital is a necessesity, KOGi manufactures a similar monitor with a DVI input as well. Needless to say, KOGi is a greap, cheap monitor. I'm pleased infinitley. |

Awesome. Even cheaper LCD's are doing really well lately.
Remember, ghosting with LCD's is only an issue while gaming.

| After trying a Samsung and an Envision, I have been very happy with a Viewsonic VA-720 17"... Kills the other two in performance... but it isn't a cheapo... I'd avoid cheap, you'll be sorry... |

Not necessarily. Cheaper LCD monitor will perform perfectly in everyday office applications and 2D work.
You can't judge an LCD by the gaming seeing they are really not intended for that market at this time.
They are meant to be low power, low pollution alternatives for office and windows applications or movie and multimedia viewing.

| I returned the Samsung and Envision based on their 2D desktop performance, never even got into games with them... Although the Viewsonic rocks in games and desktop apps, the other two weren't sharp, even in 2D. Thank goodness Best Buy is easy to return to... If I had bought online, I would have been hosed. The Envision and Samsungs were both around $400 US, and for that money should have been better. |

I took a flyer on that cheapo 17" KOGi last Christmas. It has performed perfectly with no dead pixels, and the analog display is very sharp and crisp.... used in office, no gaming. |
