Have an P4C800Deluxe/ P4-2.6HP/512MG Corsair

The IDE setup works fine, love the speed, expecially after working on a laptop.

Can't seem to establish RAID 1. The instructions reference installing RAID drivers before connecting drives to the RAID Bus. But there are two different drivers on the MB CD and mixed in with it all are references to a boot floppy.

I've run out of things to read...Maybe someone could list the appropriate steps to install RAID 1.

The instructions should be in the back of the motherboard manual.

They are. But I'm either reading something into them, or they're not accurate. They read somthing like this:

You can't install RAID 1 without installing the drives in the primary IDE slot.
Then they discuss loading the drivers from a floppy, but the drivers are on a CD
following that, they discuss formating the drives which doesn't make sense.

It's got to be easer than this.

Also, after doing what they recommend the bios sees the drives as an array but if I attempt to install XP I get message that no drives were found.

I've never used RAID before (obvious) It sounds simple and I got a board that will do everything but dance. It even plays music without booting.

It must be me.

I THINK I'VE FOUND THE MISSING INSTRUCTION

In the back of the manual, in the RAID section there's a "by the way" three-line paragraph that says if you're using XP or 2000 you need to copy the driver from the CD to a floppy.

Must have read that section a half dozen times.

Sorry to clutter up the forum.

Thanks for all the other good postings. I've learned a lot.
