PLEASE HELP SDRAM AND K7TPro2 (MS-6330)

I have a huge prob with sdram i have 256 SDRAM PC133 and i try to add another 512 SDRAM (Samsung) but my PC i start to reseting and reseting.
Strange, but always on boot recognize ram, when XP boot starting ok,but on the end restart , then start over and over, sometimes i dont see other disk (i have 2 HDD),my powersuplay is 230W i think (cabeles only for 2 HDD and 1 CDROM).Il try to remove old 256 SDRAM , but problems still the same,remove 512 SDRAM everything look OK.
Please HELP I have duron 750,MSI K7T Pro2(MS-6330) version 1.0d,i didnt change orginal BIOS version (but i am only change option in bios in case with ram BANK DRAM Timing, SDRAM Cycle Lenght),2 HDD 5400,ATI RADEON VE 32DDR,SkyStar2) Windows XP Prof.SP1.

Hmm...

I can't comment specifically on chipset or MB, but here are a few suggestions:

1) Update your BIOS

Often times BIOS's are released with bugs and issues, and these are resolved through BIOS updates.

2) Change the order of the RAM.

Some MB are EXTREMELY tempermental about what ram goes where. I know of several boards where the memory in the first bank MUST be the same size or larger than memory populating other slots.

If none of the above work, ensure that your board can run different size modules. Most can, but memory is a funny thing. I have 1.5 GB ram, but the sticks have to go in in a specific order, otherwise the computer doesn't recognize it.

If all else fails, test the board using just the 512mb. If it works, drill a hole in the 256 and use it for a keychain!

I agree with burt, update your bios to the latest offered.

Take out the 256 and put the 512 meg in the first slot and see how things go.

Also, turn your cas latency down to cas3 for compatibility.

What your are having is a massive system error.

I would recommend just using the 512meg. I myself am quite a power user and don't really need even that much.

I have that motherboard and currently have it setup like this;

1st DIMM: 256MB PC133
2nd DIMM: 128MB PC133

Unfortunately I haven't gotten the chance to try out your configuration, but mine works fine ( I have generic RAM).
This is straight from the mobo manual - This mainboard supports Table Free Memory, so memory can be installed on DIMM1, DIMM2, and DIMM3 in any order.
It also says it only supports 3.3 volt DIMM, so make sure the 512MB module you have is such. In addition, each bank can support up to a 512MB module so that size is ok.
It does seem that your power supply is quite lacking...I wouldn't be surprised if that was the culprit. Your setup calls for more power it would seem - atleast 300W.

I have a few more questions for you as well:

A) Who makes the 256MB RAM module, and how long have you been using it?
B) Where did you get the 512MB RAM module from? And is it PC133?
C) Have you been doing any overclocking? (If you don't know what that is, then the answer is no

)

Make sure you have your mobo jumper set to 133MHz FSB speed and not 100MHz.

This is indeed a hardware issue - please answer the questions above so we can provide further assistance.

If in the end - you need to update your BIOS - A.K.A. Flash your BIOS - then keep in mind, this is risky business and should be taken seriously. You can lose a motherboard/other components if you don't do this correctly!
So, to update your BIOS I highly recommend you follow the directions in this thread HERE!

WORKS GREAT ON ME !!!!!!

1 slot 512 SDRAM PC133 (samsung - brand name)
2 slot 256 SDRAM PC133 (no name)
3 slot empty

first step:
Flash my bios
second step:
reset bios to optimal defaults
thrid step:
check disk (1 hour 2HDD)
Then ..... Every things works even my ramdisk work fine,i make 256 ramdisk partition and 512 left for the sistem.
I am happy man

Which program you recomend to defragment disks.
I have XP SP1 and 2 HDD 5400 ,system maxtor 10GB,IBM DESKSTAR 40GB!
