|
Putting together an HTPC from some old parts I have lying around. Pics coming later once I get it put together.
- Thermaltake Tenor case
- ZALMAN 400W PSU
- Gigabyte P35-DS3L motherboard
- Intel Q6600 CPU
- OCZ Reaper DDR2-800 4GB kit
- Sparkle GT 240 video card
- 300GB Maxtor SATA2 HD
- NEC 16X IDE DVD Burner
- Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1600 TV card
I have an older Microsoft MCE wireless keyboard and an IR receiver which will work with my Logitech Harmony remote.
Will be using Win 7 Ultimate 64bit with it
I guess I'll have to use a stock CPU cooler seeing as there is not much space for anything else. I do have a Raidmax Silent Tank cooler which will fit sideways but then I would have to exhaust the warm air through the power supply. I'm not sure that would be work well. |

They list the SpinQ as being able to fit in most HTPC cases. I have one and it is way too tall, and most HTPC cases are shorter than mine. |

I checked out the SpinQ, and it is tall(151mm).
Thermaltake Slim X3 is 36mm.
Zalman VF2000 LED is 45mm(CPU or GPU cooler).
Scythe Shuriken is 64mm tall. ($30)
SilenX EFZ-100HA1 is 67mm.($30)
Zalman has lots at 67mm or less, and they're beautiful.($30-40) |
