Go ahead and laugh, but I am still using 1g of PC2700 memory. I just want a cheap upgrade to last until I upgrade my machine and get with the damn times.

My current mobo (A-Bit NF7-S) can only utilize up to 2G of Unbuffered and Non-ECC DDR 400 (PC3200) so that's what I want to get. I am looking for a dual channel kit. I was wondering if anyone knew the best place to find a good cheap set that will last me a couple of months until I put a new machine together.

Best price I found so far was $94 from Crucial.

Kingston HyperX looks nice, but best price I found on a set was ~$130. (A little more than I am trying to spend since I don't plan on having it long.)

I am thinking I don't really need to stick with name brands since it'll just be replaced relatively soon, but I don't really know any good budget brands that are out there.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

1 word: newegg.com

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227210

That looks like a fairly solid option with 2t timings and the price is fairly good. I would just get 2gb of DDR400 corsair value ram and save the extra cash to put toward getting some awesome ram for your new rig, something like this maybe

Then you will be nicely sorted

Yeah, haven't been able to look at NewEgg yet. Unfortunately, that site is blocked by my work. What is the link to? I guess I could check when I get home, but I'm an impatient man when it comes to buying new things. lol

Perfect!, it's less than 100 with shipping even if I do 3-day. Thank you!

Oh, and Nate. I ended up ordering one of those flash drives you mentioned in the other thread immediately after reading the review. I've been meaning to pick one up for a while and I really liked everything I read including the price. That's an awesome piece of portable storage.

Thanks again Xal. Just ordered it from one the IT guys' computers. (They've got unlimited access, so not fair.) Those bastards hit me with sales tax since I live in one of the three states that they have warehouses. lol All in all, after shipping and tax it came to $96 which is still perfectly within the $100 I wanted to spend. So I am taking the other $4 to the bar to a beer in your name. =)

For $94 you could have had some 8500 series memory and been able to overclock a lot more.

At the bottom of the page the pricegrabber has it being sold at newegg cheap.

He's after regular DDR1 for his current system to tide him over to a new build

I posted a link to the same review as a suggestion for his new build

Yar, I can't use the DDR2 yet. Still rocking the old ABit NF7-S.
