You won't regret going core 2 duo, they OC very well and the motherboard OC options are REALLY easy to use. I would suggest going with an E6600 / E6700 depending on your budget and get an nForce 650i chipset motherboard with it. I have an ASUS P5N-E SLI with that chipset and it performs just as well as the uber $$$$ Asus Striker. I have had my Pentium D805 up to 4ghz on this thing with no issues but I am running at 3.4 ATM due to the +40c themperatures we have here in the summer (not OCing weather lol). The 650i supports 1333FSB and quad core aswel so if you want to upgrade to quad core in the future all it will take is a new CPU. _________________ Phenom II x4 955 @ Stock

Your AMD has nothing in common with the new one so going to a DuoCore will be the same stretch. _________________ Owner & Administrator
