|
|
Ok, I'm almost finished building my web server. Complete with all kinds of other functions. Anyhow, I'm trying to put a wake on LAN on it.
The server is an old machine.
P3 @ 667MHz
384MB RAM
10GB HD
Linksys LNE100TX network card
Abit WB6 Motherboard
Here's the problem. both the mobo and nic say that they support WOL, but I'm not sure how to use a program to wake it up. The mobo has built in support I believe, however it also has a cable for WOL. My NIC doesn't. Any good WOL programs that I could like put on a jump drive and carry with me to wake it up if I need it? and any idea how to use them?
Thanks in advance _________________ P4 2.8 GHz

| im pretty sure that its something you can set up in your router. You are going to need to find out what port WOL uses and then set up port forwarding in your router, so that then the router recieves a connection from the internet, it forwards it to the server, waking it up. Its funny that you ask because i was actually looking into the same thing myself. Ill let you know what i find. |

check that out. I think if you set up port forwarding and use that it would work. Its free too. |
