Rudeness on TN WTF?!?!

I have noticed a fair amount of rudeness here on TN and its not cool. If someone posts something you disagree with you are fully entitled to say so but there is no need to be rude or try make yourself out to be "uber tweaking knowitall". Just say, I disagree (insert reason here). Its that simple and for Gods sake don't use CAPS, even if you didn't intend it to look insulting or rude it does, use italics, its far less offensive.

I have also noticed a few cases where people are taking offence to comments that are not offensive, this is what happens when rudeness creaps into a forum, people start to see atacks everywhere. Come on guys, we have one of the friendliest forums on the net, lets try and keep it that way.

While I don't know who or what Xal is specifically referring to, I agree 100% with his assertion that TN is one of the friendliest forums on the net and I, too would like to keep it that way. We all won't agree on every point, but let's keep it civil.

Nah, its not any specific post, just the overall feeling I've been getting lately. Most of the time its misunderstandings and not really worth comenting on individualy. I only posted this in hopes that peeps woud read it and bring back good old TN fun C'mon guys, I know its the holidays but sheesh, so leettle poooosting goin on

Well, the problem is when some new member comes in and throws his weight around and pretty well calls the content, writer or the poster wrong or unprofessional right from the start.

I won't tolerate opinionated losers to come into Tweaknews and start throwing their arrogant "know-it-all" opinion around about this site or its' content.

I have adopted the policy that if they can't comment on a review constructively to help improve the site, then the new member will be removed immediately.

This is to protect the peace seeing people that come in swinging like that are not the kind of member we want here.

Opinions are well and good, state your opinion and leave it be, if you have an issue then sort it out via PM, if after talking to the person you had an issue with you agree on something the rest of the community would benefit from then post it in a friendly way or correct your error, if not then just drop it for the sake of peace.

I must say that compared to almost every other forum I've ever seen, TN is by far the most pleasant. It's amazing because some of the newspaper blogs I've noticed are made up of people in higher age groups than TN and yet they're the ones who sound like kids, name-calling and all.

Sometimes I've seen posts here that sound short, like the writer didn't have much time, that are probably not meant to seem unfriendly. A lot is lost with the written word, since you can't see facial expressions or hear tone, that's why it's so important to proof-read & add disclaimers, such as imho, or I was told that, or it's been my experience that: etc. Kinda softens words, but all in all, TN wins the cool prize imho,,

I agree with all statements posted above. I think a good old fashioned, friendly, rivalry should be started. I miss the silly photoshop wars that used to keep us all entertained for hours.
