hi guys

i have a computer with 1.25 Gb of ram. i bought a another gig of ram so i took my 256 and replaced it with my new 1 gig ram so now i have 2 gigs. but when i turn on the computer the screen doesn't turn on it just stays black.

i tried going with the same settings as before (1.25 gb) but the screen still doesn't turn on.

any suggestions?

Well, first of all, some specs of your machine would be nice.

I wouldn't find it at all unusual that the machine wouldn't boot with mismatched RAM, but some hardware is more tolerant than others.

Try booting with just one stick and make sure its seated properly. Also be sure all your addon cards are pushed in properly, often problems are caused by a card pulling out slightly when working on something else.
