So for christmas I just got a new Conroe E6700 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819115002
And im very excited about this and im going to change my whole set up around. So currently I have AMD 3600 with the asus A8V E delux and some kingston hyperX PC 3500 and a EVGA 6800. So with this new processor what would you get with it? I thinking about the Asus board ASUS P5W DH DELUXE because of the 975X and what kind of memory should I get with this? _________________ +!~Budweiser~!+ Spelt forwards and backwards

are you going to be overclocking? if not DDR2 533 would be fine for that system. Do you plan on running SLI with a second 6800? if so, get the Nvidia based board with 680i chipset. _________________ P4 3.2ghz

| I'm having a real good time with the C2D setup in my sig. This os a great 875X mobo for $165 and overclocks vey well with that BIOS. There are also hacked drivers for this board to support SLI, though I don't run it. That OCZ memory is very good as well. I took my 6600 to 3.1GHz on stock volts with this setup and backed it down to na even 3 for 24/7 use. You can do what you want, but I wouldn't buy a 680i board just yet. Beside being too expensive at this juncture, there will be some better hardware coming up fairly soon that will make you wish you'd waited. |

So im thinking of getting this for my E6700
ASUS P5W DH DELUXE
GeIL Ultra 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)
ZALMAN CNPS9500
COOLMAX CUG-700B (power Supply)
HIS Hightech X1950XTX 512MB GDDR4 PCI Express
If you guys can make any improvements for the memmory and for the cooling fan that would be awesome going to intel for this machine is strange because I dont know anything about ATI. _________________ +!~Budweiser~!+ Spelt forwards and backwards

So everything else is good? I think that video card will allow me to do Xfire if I want in the future. _________________ +!~Budweiser~!+ Spelt forwards and backwards

Hold on to your 6800 for the mean time, ATI will soon release their line of DX 10 cards and prices will start falling across the board shortly after. Your 6800 is still good enough for anything you would want to play at the moment and you will be sorry if you waste money on a soon to be superseded card now. Other than that it looks good. _________________ Phenom II x4 955 @ Stock
