|
|
| i have some weird sound problems with my pc... dont kno if its the registry or something... Well, the problem is that anything dealing with the internet sounds dont work. Even most of my online games... Everything else like mp3/ media files work perfectly fine in anything. internet sounds and midi files dont work at all. It just happened out of nowhere. It might be becuz i have seperate speakers and speakers on my monitor. i rarely use the ones on my monitor and i had to since i was moving my pc downstairs and was too lazy to take my speaker system. and it worked fine with the monitor ones.. then i brought back upstairs and i made sure everything was connected correctly, and thats when it occurred. help plz ... dont kno how to fix it |

I would suggest checking a re-checking all the audio connections. Make sure they are set properly and securely.
Check that nothing nothing is muted in your volume controls.
If that all checks out and you still have the problem, try updating you sound drivers and see if that works. _________________ "....Or as almost every word in a sentence; Tweak the tweaking tweakers!"

Download the latest drivers for you card then uninstall your existing sound drivers. When prompted to install the drivers hit cancel then install the drivers from the manufacturer, I don't mean point the windows driver installer to the files, I mean run the setup from the manufacturer. The diver installation app often deletes previous registry keys and removes older driver versions. Whenever you are having issues like this uninstalling the drivers goes a long way to solve the issues and if not it will at least rule out driver issues. As for the registry I would suggest that, if the uninstall and reinstall didn't work, you should uninstall the drivers again and then when you have restarted and windows prompts you to install just hit cancel. Then get a registry cleaner app (there are several on the net) and run it. Delete all the keys the cleaner shows as unneccessary and restart. Repeat the driver installation.
Hope that helps
