Hit the SiS site and see if they have a unified driver for the chipset other than that I have no idea, I don't use SiS, in fact I avoid SiS like plague _________________ Phenom II x4 955 @ Stock

you know thats an interesting point.....i DID install the "AGP driver"
Xal...that may be the right driver too...but i already have the AGP driver from the alienware site...so i guess thats good....
Now....the driver in question shows up in Device Manager under:
"Other Devices ----> Base System Device"
Now....two drivers i know i havent installed are the touchpad driver....(last time i installed it the touchpad stopped working)....and the USB 2.0 driver (which i also couldnt find)
Maybe this device in question is one of them.....i'll try the touchpad driver again....with the right one now.....
If anyone would know where to find the USB 2.0 driver that wouldbe even more helpful!!!! Thanks for all the help boys!!!! _________________

If you're installing XP with SP2, you shouldn't need a USB 2 driver, but if you do, it'll be part of the chipset drivers. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

Also make sure you install the IDE driver, it works better than generic winblows drivers. It may even be what you're missing. _________________ Phenom II x4 955 @ Stock

there are only a handful of drivers they give you for this thing....the whole motherboard is branded with Alienware technologies all over the place. Other than the SiS chipset...im in the dark about a lot of stuff......
Now, dont get me wrong...the machine runs sweet. No issues....and its fast as hell. Just being paranoid i guess.... _________________
