Hey guys,

I've never really ever had a good pair of headphones. I always just use the pair that comes with whatever device I've recently gotten. When I got my Mp3 player, I loved the buds that came with it because the sound quality was surprisingly great and got used to them. I guess I used them too much and they just fell apart on me a couple weeks ago. Well my question is, what company or specific pair of headphones would you guys recommend? I'm looking for something pretty nice, like a powered pair with bass, not just some basic ear buds. Price range is pretty open, if you've got something to recommend I'll check it out.

Well everyday listening to my mp3 player and I would probably use them for the PC at night too if I had a nice pair.

Those Creatives look pretty nice, but yeah only availible in the UK

I've been looking at Sennheiser's and that's what I'm leaning towards at the moment, just not positive of what model.

And I've been dreaming about Grado since I was looking around eBay and found this http://cgi.ebay.com/Grado-GS-1000-Statement-Series-Headphones_W0QQitemZ250046780232QQihZ015QQcategoryZ109019QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item250046780232

Think I'm gonna get the 595's since I can find them on eBay for around ~$100.

I was hoping I would get some input from FnF, to bad it's irrelevent since they aren't being made anymore

But after listening to the crap clip on headphones I've got right now and hearing all the annoying background noises just running together, I'm pretty excited for something actually worth listening too.

Well went ahead and bought a pair of the 595's today for $150. I probably could have gotten them a little cheaper but I really didn't want to bother with the hassle of bidding.

Can't wait for them to arrive. This semester has been pretty bad and about the only peace I find is when I'm listening to music on the way to and from classes.

Yay! They came in today

They sound great so far, even though I've hardly listened to them. The only problem I have is the adapter is acting weird and wants to cut out if not seated properly, but it might clear up.

you mean the 1/4' to 1/8' plug adapter?

Go by a new adapter....theyre cheap, and not worth RMA the cans for....lol

Glad you like em so far!!

Yup it's just the adapter. I've got an older cd player at home that has a 1/4" plug on it. I hooked them up to it and tried my best to get them to cut out by messing with it, but it held up great so it's definetly the adapter.

I don't mind getting another adapter, but could I replace the 1/4" plug it has on it with a 1/8"? I'll probably be using them mostly with my Mp3 player, and when I use the adapter for them it makes the plug almost as long as my Mp3 player which makes it sort of cumbersome. I've got some soldering experience and if it's as simple as stripping the wires then soldering the new connection on, I could do it as long as it didn't affect the quality. Or would it just be best to take them to an audio place?

oh my fault....i missed that.

Yeah you can jus plice in an 1/8" adapter on the end in place of the 1/4"
It wont affect the quality.

After using these for a few weeks I can say I love them to death. I'm pretty sure they improved my CS:S game simply because I could hear people running around the corner much better

I still have replaced the connector but I'll take care of it soon.
