Is it an issue nowadays? I've been contemplating getting a LCD moniter so that I could have more room on my desk. I'm currently using a flat screen 21" viewable Dell Trinitron modified with many post-its.

Short answer is it's really a non-issue. Just get something with a low response time (sub-12ms is a safe bet) and a decent contrast ratio and you'll be fine. That Dell is a boat anchor.....

Post it mod's used to be the rage....but they are soooo 2004.

Actually, at work, (where I make all the IT decisions) some ppl are still using our older crt monitors because they do not exhibit proper control of their pens. CRT's seem to defend themselves pretty well from a "sharpie" attack, were LCD's are a bit more delicate.

^^^Like he said^^^ modern LCD's game game quite well.

haha i wouldn't even anchor a boat with a dell moniter, I'm buying myself a 2ms 2000:1 Contrast Sumsung moniter. Will get some pics up of my new 'Setup' when done. But yes, I would be worrier with a 12ms moniter for fast paced games, I would be looking at 4 and 8, 2 if you have the money.

thumbleft thumbright good choice

Your 9800pro will handle it just fine, but (for the sake of the googlers) people should always check to see that your video card will handle the (HDTV style) resolutions, before buying a monitor like this.
