I was just wondering if anyone here got their hands on a copy of Windows Vista Beta 1. If any of you haven't heard about it (codename longhorn) click here.

You too can get a copy...if you are a subscriber...
I will prolly wait for RC2, so what I'm playing with is a little closer to the final. At least that is what I've done in the past. _________________ .

Yea beta 2 is better, gives them time to work out any bugs, also you get to toy with IE7 and the new media player! I think the article said that they are going to be in beta 2, not 100% though _________________ P4 3.2ghz

Is it possible for anyone (like myself) to get a copy of Vista? Of course, I'm talking legally. Did you guys have to pay for it? _________________ ABIT IC7 MAX 3, Corsair PC4000 Pro, P4 2.6C @3.23 GHz 1:1, 2.5-4-4-7, 2 WD Raptors in RAID 0 |

RC1 (release candidate 1) was only available for a few days a couple of months ago, to MSDN members. Vista (released) is available now for businesses with the licensing agreements. It will be available to all in about a month. _________________ .

I've installed it, ran it for a couple of weeks, then removed it from my computer.
I'll wait for at least the first service pack, or a new version after the EU lawsuits are out of the way.
Just to many controls that give Microsoft and others power over my computer and computing |

You're not the first person to have those sentiments. I've heard the control bit is going to be widespread. This sort of behaviour is going to cause paranoia, making criminals out of law abiding citizens.
Not the best way to keep clientèle. |
