Well said! If it works on my kid's machines (and it does) AVG should protect anyone!

It's kinda funny that the Advert right below the AVG review post is for Symantec enterprise.

yeppers, good article...

I've been using AVG for years now and I've yet to encounter a problem from normal use. I switched after a corrupt update to Norton AV took out my system....took me tool full system reloads before I figured it out, been using AVG and loving it ever since.

Part of Grisoft was purchased by Intel a year ago, here is the announcement. That can only be a good thing, unless they get greedy.

I've been using AVG Free in all my PCs for 2 years now, also installed it in more than 50 friend's and family's PCs, and couldn't be happier too. NOONE is bothering me with AV questions any more!

Out of curiousity, which AV programs have you used or tested with?

I agree with a lot in the article, about AVG's low use of system resources and bloated and inefective AV solutions from others such as Symantec/Norton. It's better than a lot of other subsciption based AV software and considering it's free...

The only part of the article I'm hesitant about is AVG being the best. I have 2 other AV programs in mind and wondering if you've tested them.

I have used to following in my past history:

Avast
Kaspersky
NOD32
Avira
ClamWin
Panda Active Scan (Free online)
H+BEDV
Softwin's BitDefender

I liked the overall simplicity and effectiveness of AVG.

Plus I dig its low use of system resources and man, I dig the quad color tray icon.
