Not sure if this is the right section for this, so I apologize in advance if it is not.
Most of you are familliar with the notorius A-Bit northbridge fans failing. Instead of replacing them, there is a trick to fix them about 99% of the time.
If you remove the fan from the board and look at its bottomn side, you will find a sticker. Carefully peel the sticker back until the berring is revealed. Place a drop or two of 3 in 1 oil on the the berring and spin teh fan fan around to work it in. Then replace the sticker and mount the fan, should work like a charm. _________________ "....Or as almost every word in a sentence; Tweak the tweaking tweakers!"

Yip, this is what I do, takes about 2 minutes.
Just don't over do it with the oil or get any oil on the sticker surface or it won't ever stick again. _________________ Owner & Administrator

never really had the abit fan problem and i've been running abit boards for a few years...
My solution to northbridge fans is to get boards that have passive cooling, and there was one board I arctic epoxied a p3 heatsink to.
But all in all i recommend looking at boards with passive cooling just so that you never have to worry about fan failure _________________ If time is of the essence,

But, you will never et the cooling out of a passive cooler as you will see with an active fan cooler. _________________ Owner & Administrator

I've had to do this a time or two. Works better than stock also. A couple of cable ties holds it on fine. _________________ .
