|
|
Hi all,
Please help me on the following problem:
I connect everything right and push the power button to boot. Usually, the green light on the monitor will respond when it receives the signal from the mobo but this time, it does not. I can still hdd running, the cpu fan is working.
Please explain what is happening and help me on this.
I tried to clear the cmos but it did help.
Thank you. _________________ ASUS P4P800 SE

Are you getting any beeps? Are you truly booting into an OS or is it just on? Have you removed the power cord from the machine or just turned it off?
If this is onboard video, have you checked to see if any jumpers are missing. If it's a video card, have you tried reseating it.
Also, remove all USB devices, that are plugged in. The other day it took me several reboots to figure out a USB MP3 player was stopping a boot. It was weird. _________________ .

There is no beep. I dont think there is anything wrong with the memory, monitor (I used them with other PC and they work just fine), just the mobo is locked up or something. I am trying to install a new OS but I dont think this is not an issue. The video is on board. I did not remove any jumper which relates to the video. This is really frustrating.... _________________ ASUS P4P800 SE

Make sure the onboard video is on in the BIOS.
With the power off and the cord unattached I would remove and reseat the memory and the videocard just to be sure they are sitting in their respective slots properly. _________________ Owner & Administrator

This mobo (MSI PM8M-V) has on board video. I tried to take the memory out and power on>>>nothing, try to put them back and power on>>>nothing. It seems to me the on board video is gone but it's weird. This mobo is only 2 week old. I have never faced this kind of thing before _________________ ASUS P4P800 SE

So...you're not posting at all.
New mobo's can go bad just like older one's.
BUT...perhaps the power supply is not returning a power good signal. I assume you've unplugged all unneeded things such as hdd, cdroms, pci addon cards, usb things and bling lighting. Only mobo, video, memory and processor are required to boot to bios. If it still will not post, then you are down to psu, mobo or cpu, since you know the memory is okay.
Also mouse is not required to boot to post, but a keyboard is, and I've seen keyboards go bad also. _________________ .

Same thing happened to me a while back, turned out the PSU had died on me, try a different PSU.
Good luck :) _________________ Phenom II x4 955 @ Stock
