I freeze when i try to overclock!!

Whenever i try to overclock my XFX 6200 my computer freezes and the monitor fizzes. the icons on my desktop start to shift around and go blue and stuff. wtf is up!?!? PLEASE HELP! MY GPU SUCKS!

Sounds like your graphics memory is coming apart. I'm sure you read around on the forum, there are a couple gfx oc'n threads. That is a good place to start.

But. XFX builds at least 3 versions of 6200, and of the 3 I see, two of them use the turbo cache technology. If it is one of those then I'm afraid OC'n will be pretty lame. If you have the one with 256ddr on board, then a few ramsinks might be in order.

Sounds to me like you are trying to OC a bit too much in one go. Have a look at some of the threads in this section for tips on OCing the GPU and memory properly. I would post it all here again but the info is already on the forum so have a dig

yea i didnt ever get to the past of tweaking. it just freezes every time i get to the point of doing it. it reads it... and freezes. I do have a turbocatch supporting 256. IT IS TERRIBLE! but im just tying to get something outta it.

What are you using to OC?
Use the OC utility that comes with the gfx drivers.

There are instructions on how to unlock it in the GFX card and monitors section.

Sounds like you are pushing it too fan or your case temp is too high.

What were you pushing it to when is corrupted the screen?

Did you up the videocard voltage in the bios?

ok he is trying to OC a turbocache video card, which has already been mentioned that it is rather difficult to do with very little gain.
