| First of all I'm not even sure if it is my graphics card, but it is my first suspect. Now the problem is that on most games the game will apparently for no reason lag horrendiously (not internet-lag, as it happens on single player games too) If I am not moving the mouse constantly, and sometimes even that doesn't work, I've tried toning down the graphics, but that doesn't seem to help much. Any suggestions? |

What games in particular are we talking about?
Your issue could be with outdated drivers, or your lack of DirectX 9.0 support, or it could be an overheating issue.
Tell me what games you're having problems with, when the last time you updated your vid card drivers was, and if you've checked your vid card fan to make sure it's working.
Post the rest of your system specs as well, just so I know what platform I'm working with. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

It could be due to many things. What settings are you running these games on? The 5700 can't do full detail with high resolution . . . its just not a top of the line card.
The lag could also be due to spyware. If you haven't already, run Ad-aware and Spybot: Search and destroy.
A good old defrag of the hard drive can't hurt either. _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |

what video drivers are you using?
When the "lag" happens is the sound normal? Are you using a sound card or on-board sound? _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

Brand, model, specs. Should be listed on the side of the PSU. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

I would update the drivers for the sound card, video card and the chipset.
First update the chipset drivers then remove the drivers for the sound and video. The next step is install the new video drivers then the sound drivers. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

It used to not be such a problem. But as time has gone along and everything
gets more complex this issue arrises more often. I am glad that we were able
to help you get your problems ironed out. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!
