Mojo, I've got a question this time.
You tested the PSU outside of a case, I'm assuming, and read the voltages that way. Would it be possible to do the same test installed in a closed-up case? I'm interested to see what the voltages do when it's crammed into a mid-tower. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

Won't make one bit of difference seeing his cases have more forced air supply than outside of the case. _________________ Owner & Administrator

Nathan's right. It's been my experience that the voltages don't change much on a quality PSU like this unless the temps rise to such a level that stable rails would be the least of your problems.
You may see (hear) the fan speed increase a bit if the case has poor cooling.
During this review, I actually (mistakenly) had the PSU laying on the table with the fan facing downwards, severely restricting the airflow. Fan noise alerted me to the trouble, but the rails were rock stable.
I flipped it over and retested, the results coming in at a fraction of a % of the previous measurements. I'm really impressed with this PSU. |

The technical nazi has been removed and so has the crap that has ruined a good thread for posting questions about a product, not complaining like a baby about something that was missing.
When someone puts the site down, you will be handed your hat and kicked the hell out.
I am far too busy to deal with propellor-head super-geeks bitching and moaning about little things not covered that would be asked and found important but about one in a million readers.
Thread back on track. _________________ Owner & Administrator
