Ok guys, as stated in a nother thread....i added a SATA HDD to my rig. I have more than enough power, and my airflow really didnt change.... This is the ONLY THING I CHANGED.
Typically, Asus probe would read my chip at around 27 and MB btw 26-28. My temp/fan controller read the chips HS at even less and the same with the MB. At idle mind you.
NOW...the chip hangs around 35 in probe and 32 on the controller....and the MB reads 32 in probe....and 41 on the controller......
What the HELL could be going on...... i check all the processes and i have nothing out of the ordinary....nothing changed....i even ran scan checks out the wazoo and nothin came up different.....
what could be goin on?[/b] _________________

Where did you add the new drive, and did you leave a gap between your existing drives? Also figure that you just added another 40-50C worth of heat into the front of your case.............it shouldn't make the temps rise too much more, but depending on your fan setup, it could raise the internal ambient temp of your case 4-5C, which in turn raises your chip temps a few degrees as well. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

Just for gits and shiggles monitor the voltages.
I am assuming the new HD is towards the bottom and front of the case along with the other HD(s)? Do you have a fan blowing on these? If so, what size? _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |

two 80mm intakes right there...and yes, youre correct. A lot of space to keep airflow ok, and to cool drive.
Voltages havent changed...still rock stable
i think this case just has too much stuff in it.....its time for a full tower.....
...you know...when im not broke (so never...=P) _________________

That's where I'm at........you can only stuff so much crap into a mid tower before things start to get a little cozy. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

Is your SATA controller onboard? if so is it chipset or on its own chip? If its on the chipset then your chipset temps will be a bit higher from the extra load too. _________________ Phenom II x4 955 @ Stock

yeah i thought of that....im guessing its due to that...and the added airflow obstruction...
full rewire to come soon...=] _________________
