Not sure if this is the right section... but it is a chipset question and it relates to my mobo.............
Question is i have a abit AN8 Ultra. Its advertised on box and all the websites as a
Nforce4-ultra chipset. But in the pic you can see what i have in red to what i am supposed to have in green
Anyone have any idea why its not the ultra chipset ??? |

that is just giving you a generic reading of the chipset.
What does cpu-z read? _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

You have the AN8 Ultra, not the AN8/Fatal1ty. The regular AN8 and Fatal1ty boards have the regular nForce4/nForce4 SLI Northbridge.
You're just looking at the wrong mobo, that's all. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/products.php?categories=1&model=278
"NVIDIA NF4 Ultra Based AMD Athlon 64/64FX Main board, PCI-Express, NV SATA 3G Raid, NV GbE, NV Firewall, IEEE 1394, ABIT Q-OTES, µGuru™, AudioMAX™ Technology"
This is my mobo. I am looking at the right one and have the box in my hand. Thank you . |

I know YOU know what board you have..........jeez...........
What I'm saying is the Everest screen is showing you have a Fatal1ty board, or a regular AN8, which does NOT have the Ultra chipset. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

Your mobo:
AN8 Ultra
Chipset
- NVIDIA NF4 Ultra single chip
- Integrated NV Gigabit Ethernet and NV Firewall
The mobo Everest is reporting it as:
Fatal1ty AN8 SLI
Chipset
- NVIDIA NF4 SLI single chip
- Integrated NVIDIA Gigabit Ethernet and NVIDIA Firewall
- Supports NV SATA 3G RAID
or
AN8 SLi
Chipset
- NVIDIA NF4 SLI single chip
- NVIDIA Gigabit Ethernet with NVIDIA Firewall
- Supports NV SATA 3G RAID
Everest is reporting the wrong mobo. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

Ummm.....it may be confused because of the OC...or perhaps you flashed the bios and the everest prog isn't new enough to know.
I OC'd a 2000+ enough once, that cpu-z reported it as a 2600+. _________________ .

Looks to be, but I can't say for sure with that proggie. An older version reported my 875P as a straight 875, a newer one reported it correctly. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

potayto, potahto
its the same thing just different way of saying it.
PhRoZ, did you compare the list of the specs to yours and figure out which chipset you have? I have a feeling all it is, is that the naming scheme in the bios is programmed differently from the Asus to the Abit. So some engineer wrote nForce4 instead of nForce4 Ultra. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

^^^ Yup. Either that, or the Everest programmers lump Abit AN8 boards all together under one listing. _________________ Big enough to scare you |
