Hi, I just bought a new M/B A8N23-Sli Deluxe from Asus and I have a big problem with my sound which is capturing all the revs sound of the CPU fan and the hissing sound that my hard disk does when loading. In all, its making the sound really unpleasant. Even when I adjust the CPU fan my speeding it up,you can hear the sound of the revs in creasing from the speakers

What can I do? I had the same surround system even with my previous Asus M/B and connected in the same way and never had such a problem.

Ok solved...it was just the bloody PC SPEAKER that wasn't turned MUTE. Once put it into mute from the sound menu, the sound was good as always!

you get that distortion from RF interference or a grounding issue....maybe you should unplug that speaker, or flip the connector around...

Yup, the PC speaker can do that, if it's plugged in backwards. Basically, you're creating a ground loop in the audio signal path.
