I just spent the last two days overclocking my new system, I'm now running at the fastest stable speed I can get. Right now I'm running my X2 4400 (2.2Ghz) at 2.71Ghz (285 FSB *9.5 multi @ 1.48Vcore in BIOS / 1.50 ~ 1.52V due to 200mV over-voltage on motherboard regulators).
System spec:
MB- Asus A8n SLI Premium
2x 1Gb Corsair "Value Select" Cas 3 DDR 400 RAM in dual chanel mode @ 226Mhz at 3, 4, 4, 10 2.9V (not bad for budget ram!)
Gigabyte 256Mb 6600 GT vid card
200Gb Maxtor IDE hard drive
cheap ass case and homew-brew water cooler to keep temps down.
I have one hell of a willing processor, this thing WILL DO 2.8Ghz with stock cooling, but there just is not enough voltage from the MB to get it stable (max BIOS vcore setting is just 1.500V ) what's up with Asus and the lower top-end vcore voltages on the newer mother boards??
CPU will do 2.6Ghz at stock voltage and stock cooling. I fitted a water cooler to keep the temps down to a nice safe 45deg C under full load (both cores), Vcore can prolly go lower, but I'm not willing to try just yet, I'll let the CPU burn in for a while first.
God bless the guys at corsair, 226Mhz on cheap ram is good going! I can even do 223Mhz @ 3, 3, 3, 7, but anything past 224 and I have to drop the timings. can't really complain about that considering.
New comp will be joining the D2OL team shortly.

that is very good for that chip.
I thought that the Asus had good voltage options for the vcore. It maybe in different settings like one for "overvolting" in percentages or the like.
I can't wait to see what you do on D2OL! _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

right now their site is down. I am hoping they are switching out their NAS. But we will have to wait and see.
AB if you are wondering what D2OL is all about we have info on it HERE. We would love to you have you on our team if you are interested and commited to the cause. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

The manual say it goes upt to 1.67Vcore, but the newer BIOS limits this to just 1.5V There is a Vcore mod trick I could try, but I'll prolly just let this one stay as it is and try for another system as and when I can get the cash. Unfortunatly The local computer shop is not the best for overclocking capable boards.
Might try and get them to order in a DFI lanparty and swap the CPU over into the new board (prolly replace it in the other system with a cheaper X2 and OC it as best I can).
