I don't know how many of you watch the FREE-DC Main stats page for D2OL. But there has been some major shifting in the last 24 hours. The reason for this is there is some question about the output of a sub-team of DPC. And their reluctance at stating what machines they used to get this production and so forth. All of this started when XS passed DPC in the stats. Team ICP started posting huge numbers day after day and every dump always ended in 0. This caught the attention of some. So they brought it up and DPC became very defensive about the whole thing. Calling for a check of DDTUNG's output because it was consistantly higher than anyones elses.
The whole thing is quite upsetting considering I firmly believe in this project and it's cause. So my stand on this is, if there is someone that is dropping phoney work then we the legit masses need to work even harder to provide good work for D2OL.

I read around about this....sounds kind of.....sh*tty if you ask me. And, on top of it all, ppl are bailing out and changing teams left and right all around. Sounds as if some are going to other projects.
Heck, if enough ppl, break up out of there respective teams and sub-teams I could get in the top 100 sooner. Sh*t if I were my own team I'd be about #54, all by myself. So I'm glad I'm on a team that the tweakin' and the helping for the right reasons, come first, and position and team rank are secondary.
Still sh*tty though, cheatin' on D2OL is kinda like stealing the bell ringer's bucket. Confused

XS does have some of the best people out there. And that is why it is such a good team. That was one of the reasons that I felt that I needed to help this team anyway I could. So I built 4 DX systems and have been running those since.
What bothers me the most is that this project means alot to me and my family. And for there to be a question about validity of some of the contributions just makes me sick. I firmly believe in this project and am going to continue to crunch for the cause. But I am going back to my old team to help them climb the ranks again. The way I think about this is, if someone is turning in phoney work then we need to work all the harder to turn in real cands. And I for one am going to do anything I can to support D2OL.

Thank you all for your support and friendship. XS is a great team and has wonderful people. I will not be leaving you. Just my silicon will be running under a different name. Again thank you.

Thank you for your help and friendship. If your team ever needs help in a DC project that XS is not involved in, just let me know and I'll pitch in some firepower.

Victor is a man of his word and a very nice guy. As I have said before he gave me alot of help in setting up my DX machines.

not really sure what is going on. I think intially it was done to remove the threat of XS overtaking DPC so that a certain sub-team would stop with their "dumps" But it may also be a gathering of power as it were, to make monstrous move and put the cows down for good. I guess we will see as everything unfolds.

Oh well, you were coming home to your beloved TN in a day or two anyway.

Here we know that ultimately, it's not how many candidates we crunch. We just need to find the correct single candidate to crunch.
Kinda like that correct lotto ticket I keep looking for.

Hmmmm, it's not the first time I've heard of this sort of thing happening with a DC project.
I susspect I know how they may be creating a dump of "false" cands, it's fairly simple. normally the project NAS is able to filter out the "bad" cands, this is why you may find you have a few extra cands showing in your node stats, compaired to the actual number of cands seen on the project stats.

I don't want to say on a public forum how I think the cand dumps could be faked, just incase others out there have the same idea to fake results.
PM me if you want to talk about this.

It's sneaky things like this that made me leave the Seti@home project.

yeah I am pretty sure of how it is done as well. And others have tried the way that I am thinking of and have confirmed that it can be done that way. Tis such a same that there is no honor in some people. Mad

But as 2o has said I am returning home in two days. And along with that return I bring much firepower. To make this even better AlGore is returning as well.
