Im planning on getting a new proccesor and motherboard (Motherboards pretty much sorted out, http://www.microdirect.co.uk/ProductInfo.aspx?ProductID=10165&GroupID=1088 )
and im looking at this AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego chip right now. What i need to know is how much of a difference will i notice from this than my Athlon XP 3000+? I have my X800 pro now and i think my 3000+ is struggling to keep up with it.

Thanks for the help.

Is it a 64 bit 3000+ you have now ? If not you will notice a HUGE difference ! If it is , you will still notice a great improvement. Thoese are nice chips and you'll have a great gaming rig or reg pc when you upgrade.

Agreed, you'll see a massive improvement. You're doubling your cache (1mb instead of 512kb), tripling your FSB (1ghz instead of 333mhz), the smaller die size is more efficient.

It'll smoke your 3000+.

cache doesn't play much of a difference on the A64's
Hypertransport isn't the same thing as a FSB.

A64's are just a more efficient chip than what the XP was.

Ok, if you're gonna be picky, the memory interface is much faster. I'm talking broad terms, bro, not specifics.

ok... I am confused. How did you guys get from talking about processors to talking about ladies. I have nothing against talking about ladies (cause I am chasing one right now, but kind of falling behind) but it should be in the chit chat sectio. And just for my opinion, superfly ghettobootie momma works out really well in the urban setting
