This is a weird one again.....

My roomies comp is a home built...uh..thing.....its a socket 370 P3 733mhz, with some ram and blah blah.....

Someone jammed XP Pro SP2 on this thing, and it actually runs pretty well considering.....
HOWEVER.....there is a bum audio driver in there somewhere and its casuing a fatal reboot error....so i shut off the shut down on crash option,....and caught a specific audio driver as the issue....

Now....i cant find another driver for it.....at ALL...i tried two close ones....with no luck

here are all the baord specs i can find.....

thanks in advance..as usual...=]

I believe the motherboard manufacturer is Microstar (MSI).

You should be able to see a model number on the motherboard.

Also you might be able to get the model number from the bios string.

The mobo manufacturer is always a good idea...and if that don't work...
http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?PageID=2&OSID=1&CatID=1010
cause that prolly is a SB based 97.
Also, make sure the via hyperion (4in1) drivers are installed.

www.belarc.com

this little auditing program works well to determine board information. That or you could take a pic of the mobo, so I can pull some numbers and help ya out even further.

This is one of the best sites out there for drivers... I found a driver for Compaq printer that would allow it to be used with XP.. funny thing is that I was going to put theprinter int he goodwill because I didn't think it worked anymore.
