Easiest way: Call your ISP. Tell them that you need to reset your password, they'll ask you pertinent info (name, address, account number) to verify it's really you, then they'll reset it to a new password for you. Your E-mail password is stored on the ISP mail server. :) _________________ Big enough to scare you |

I have been trying to figure out how to configure outlook express for a while now. I want to setup it up so that my comcast email and my alumni account from school goes through outlook express so I don't have to open up the websites all the time. It asks me for ingoing and outgoing POP3 servers or something like that. I don't really understand how to do it. _________________ ABIT IC7 MAX 3, Corsair PC4000 Pro, P4 2.6C @3.23 GHz 1:1, 2.5-4-4-7, 2 WD Raptors in RAID 0 |

You have to ask your ISP's for that.
For Comcast, read here:
http://www.comcast.com/Support/Corp1/FAQ/FaqDetail_2288.html
That details how to do it.........Google is a wonderful thing, ain't it?
For your school, you'll need to ask them for the proper servers, and proxy info, if any. They'll be more than happy to tell you how to set it up. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

I reformatted my computer and resetup outlook express. However, I have a problem with the graphics now. When I open up emails pictures, icons, and graphics don't show up. Just the boxes with the x's show up in the box where the picture was supposed to be. I installed flash player and still no dice. I don't understand why, and I can't find an update on the internet. I google searched and only found sites suggesting updating IE which I did and installing flash which I also did. _________________ ABIT IC7 MAX 3, Corsair PC4000 Pro, P4 2.6C @3.23 GHz 1:1, 2.5-4-4-7, 2 WD Raptors in RAID 0 |

In Tools>>Options>>Security, there is a checkbox about halfway down that blocks pictures and HTML in messages.
I would uncheck it only to view a known good source and then recheck it for general use. _________________ .

Thanks for the quick response....I have another question then...
When I try to send emails, new or by replying, I get errors saying that the server rejected the email address I am sending it too. I have 3 accounts going into OE but am using one as the default ( obviously). This has happened several times but when I go through the actual website and try to send the email it works. Do I have to enable something in outlook for this to work? _________________ ABIT IC7 MAX 3, Corsair PC4000 Pro, P4 2.6C @3.23 GHz 1:1, 2.5-4-4-7, 2 WD Raptors in RAID 0 |

I'm not real sure I understand the exact error, but double check your SMTP server name in tools>>Accounts>>default>>Servers. Mis-typing gets a lot of ppl.
Also make sure nobody closed port 25 in whatever firewall your using. _________________ .

Port 25 doesn't matter for an email client, only for an email server.
2O is right, check to see if your mail server requires SSL, make sure you have your username and password correct.........all that sortof stuff. Check the website's instructions, alot of times you'll have to change the port numbers to match what the mail server is using. _________________ Big enough to scare you |
