Intel has decided to be very nice and let me purchase a great bundle of goodies for a low cost. Now I am curious to what you guys think some of my old hardware would be worth. I may be selling, haven't decided if I will or not. Specs are as follows:

Asus K8V-X mobo
AMD athlon 2800+ socket 754
PDP DDR 400 1gig 256 x2 (matched) 512x1
Msi GeForce 4 MX-440 64meg AGP
ThermalTake SilentBoost all copper heatsink / fan

Thanks for your time....

I would say about $50 for the mobo, $60-$70 for the AMD proc, $20 or so for the vid card, $20 or so for the HSF, no real idea on the RAM.....but figure at best half of what new sells for.

Yeah, I would probably concur w/ FnF on most of that. I may acutually even say 10-15 for the video card. You'd get about 20-30% more easily for you processor if it wasn't a socket 754 (i.e. 939). That ram would be fair at about $30/ 512mb....so basically 60 bones for all 1GB.

Are you looking to grace your fellow tweakers with this stuff or sell it on the bay beginning with E?

Not like I'm undercutting.............but he asked.

1gb of Patriot RAM, in 2 512mb sticks is going for around $80......I would sell what you have for $50 or a bit less, since it can't be run dual-channel, and would take up 3 of 4 ram slots.......I mean, if somebody already had a gig, and was looking for another, they'd bypass you, or if they only had 512mb, but a different type from what your 512 is...........you get the picture.

On that note you might find it best to sell the CPU/MOBO/HSF/RAM all together for like 135 or so. It'd be of maximum usability to the end owner.

Feel like upgrading your parents' system?

About the ram, 256 x 2 is dual channel memory, just it's not being ran that way. The 512 is single. If I did sell I would sell all together.

-maybe I could upgrade the parents system for trade of food / rent payments

Well, maybe. I would like to sell it all together as a bundle. I've had an offer, you can PM me with one if you like.
