Well after seeing sandness doing his watercooling, made me think about how I was playing with the cooling in my PC last night. This is what I got on Air.

How'd you pull that off? Open all the window in the apartment? And, not to downplay it, but was that at idle?
Nevertheless, 78F is 78F. Damn your AMD. |

No, I got rid of the stock cooler along time ago. Right now I'm using a all copper heatsink with a thermaltake 90mm fan. |

holy sheepshit! I cant even get close with my P4. Idle ablout 42, and full load hits about 65. And those numbers are with the fan on my Thermaltake POLO on full. My next build (possibly next year) will have watercooling. _________________ P4 3.2ghz

That's a bit better than my 2.8C. I idle at 34-36c, max load is around 46c, with two instances of D20L running, or with two instances of SWG running. Ambient temps at 70f, heat on. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

speaking of cold as ice, I recently just pulled out a few HD's I wasn't using from my system in the hopes of better airflow, but haven't realized much. Just for kicks a put my extra thermal probe from my HD cooler on the outside of my case w/ thermal tape and HOLYBALLS is it ever cold! 11C right now. The nearby window is undoubtedly the reason, but DAMN! I now realize why my 120mm thermally controlled vantec stealth is running at 662 RPM. Perhaps NOT having a thermally controlled intake fan would assist in my case cooling. Any thoughts?
I may not have this case much longer anyway, but always tweaking. _________________ |¤

Personally, I don't like thermally controlled case fans. I prefer a straight, uncomplicated fan with a fan controller. The problem with intake fans with a thermal controller is they get the nice, chilly air from outside hitting the sensor, which slows them down...........while the inside of the case is still pretty warm.
Thermally controlled on the exhaust is ok, since the air hitting the sensor is already heated up from the guts, but I still don't like them. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

yeah, my exhaust fan is thermally controlled...but its also 60mm. This case is a bit silly. _________________ |¤

Well, hereas a little update on computing in Minnesota.
I with that thermal sensor on the front of my case....
yeah, that's right....really cold. The HD behind the drive bay cooler there is running at a toasty 25.
My window is open maybe 1/8 of an inch.....maybe
I'm cold..... _________________ |¤
