Got the latest version of FireFox, just for giggles and grins..........actually, because a friend wanted to use the calendar, since it supports iCal files.

Anyway, I surfed a bunch of pages (kept track of them) on IE, then ran a spyware/adware scan battery (AdAware, Spybot, MS Anti-spyware). Nothing found, other than a couple of tracking cookies.

Surfed the exact same pages, with FireFox. Same spyware scan found over 100 items, including CometCursor, Advertising.com, a half-dozen "helper" toolbars, etc etc.

Did the same test the next day, same basic results. IE got nothing more than a half-dozen harmless cookies, FireFox got infected like a two-dollar hooker.

This is a stock FireFox config, no changes, like most people would use it. Let's just say I'm not impressed..........I thought FireFox was supposed to be more secure than IE?

I have noticed that My IE has been performing WAY better than my firefox lately. I guess its due to the new fact that Maybe hackers, and polluters got tired of IE becuase they already "DID THAT" and Now worked on buggin up the Fox. Doh well. Thats why I use spy sweepers on a daily basis and make sure my comp runs right.

Alright, can't take it anymore, it has been removed.

Not as user friendly I think.

Back to IE.

how is it not user friendly? i have hade firefox since it came out and have never used IE again, and im doing just fine, you dont like tabbed browseing or the fact that with a simple mod to the config not the registry will improve the speed of firefox tremendously, and Fuss you must be going to some weird sites because i hardly ever get any kind of spyware and i havent used IE in over a year.

I tend to agree with Nathan. I think, for me, it's just the interface. Close, and not bad, but kinda.......not smooth, ya know. And everything is in a slightly different place. Nothing I couldn't get used to, but nothing I NEED to get used to........

And yes, I go to some wierd sites........Babble, Google, Yahoo, Verizon, TN, SWG Forums, stuff like that.

I'm also not a fan of having to "mod" the config for full speed.......I want it to work right the first time. If I have to tweak it, I can't recommend it to, say, my mom, who barely knows how to check her email.

'nuff said. Good browser, but not any better than IE, Opera, or anything else out there.

Yeah it will. In fact, if you download the MSN toolbar it enables tabbed browsing with IE6.
