I read about that about 8 months ago, give or take. I understand the reasoning.......a high quality, color laser printer, with the proper paper, could make an exact coy of US currency. It's not as big an issue now, since they've been inserting those little plastic strips through the paper (it's actually cloth), but not many people check for those.

In Zimbabwe we had holograms on the larger notes.
In Uganda it was the same.
In Rwanda its easier but still have watermarks and metal strips.

Yeah , the US$ isnt the best of counter-fraudulent notes around, never seems to be much on them, especially compared to a £10 or £20 note, they are full of different things, holograms, watermarks, metal strips etc etc, not too mention they are clearly visible.
