Remote Desktop

So something crazy and random seems to have occured on a system which I administrate (i.e. the girlfiend's computer). After working properly for weeks, we are no longer able to connect to her computer from any other computer via Microsoft Remote Desktop. We simply get the message:

She can connect to me without a problem.

I have double-checked all settings for remote desktop and her firewall.
Both machines are running Windows XP Professional SP2 (all updates)
Both machines are connected to the same network (it is a university network).
I can still get to her shared folder without a problem
No software changes have recently been made.

Any suggestions? Confused

You can check to see if the RDP is actually listening for connects.

Run netstat -an | find "3389" from the command prompt.

You should get a response such as this:
TCP 0.0.0.0:3389 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING

If you get no listing from the netstat... command the computer isn't listening for incoming remote desktop connections.

UMmm, i think i had that problem once. If you run one of the MS service editors, you have to enable it somewhere.
