Enermax, Antec (Weaz says they've been having problems, I don't know for sure), Tagan, and ThermalTake are all good. What I would be looking for is something in the 480-550 watt range, with a minimum of 18a on the 12v rails (specs are right on the boxes, or websites). Look for something with ActivePFC. This assures that the voltages stay steady even if your power source is a bit goofy. Stay away from no-name or store brands (MadDog, etc), they usually suck.
Get the most power you can afford, but definitely look for ActivePFC and high amp ratings. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

Depends on the model. The one you have got rave reviews.........the follow-up sucked rocks. Not ruling them out, but not really high on my list. Vantec really dropped the ball on that one.
(but this isn't that type of question............and you have good taste in PPC's, so I'll forgive it........ ) _________________ Big enough to scare you |

for a decent quiet psu that will work well look for either an Enermax noisetaker, or a seasonic. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

Today is a sad day. I just bought a new psu cost over 160 bucks An enermax 535W with 18A on the 12v rail. And no increase in speed whatsoever on my games. Now what?
Any ideas? |

That would be my suggestion, too. Since you had Norton on there (and the only way to kill it completely is to reformat......), plus any other tweaking, driver installs (and possibly incomplete uninstalls), I'd do a fresh XP setup.
Typically I do that after any major hardware change, anyway, just to make sure there's no debris left from the old stuff. _________________ Big enough to scare you |
