Well hey again people, thanks for the help you gave me a few months ago on some other issues. Now im back again, with a new problem!
Ok well today i was on my psp, and downloaded a couple of movie clips on it. I couldnt find them so i decided to hook it up to my pc and move the files into another folder. Upon getting into the folder (PSP/COMMON) the whole computer rebooted itself onto a blue screen. Im sure it had something to do with the two files in that folder, as getting onto my other pc (the one im using now) it did the same thing when i did the same procedure, instead of not going onto a blue screen and booting up normally. The blue screen says a problem has been detected and has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer bla bla bla. The tech info is: ***STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF79CA528, 0xC00000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). It says above to run chkdsk and to run a virus scan. How the hell am i supposed to do that when i cant boot my pc up? Ive been googling this for hours today but no light has been spread.
My OS is Windows XP, service pack 2. Specs are:
AMD Athlon 3000+
Radeon 9800 pro
Asus A7N8X2 mobo
1GB PC3200 RAM (2x 256mb + 1x 512mb sticks)
If anyone knows anything about this, help will be very much apreciated. Thanks alot in advance,
Ryan |

Cheers |

Easy........there's a couple of ways.
Easiest is to go to Run, type in MSConfig, and hit enter. Click the Boot.ini tab, and "check all boot paths".
If there's a problem, it'll tell you. Easiest way to edit boot.ini is to go to Folder Options in My Computer, click the View tab, and check "show hidden and system files" and "hide extensions of known file types". Go to your root directory on Drive C, and open Boot.ini with Notepad. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

Boot from the WinXP cd and launch the recovery console. From there you can run fixmbr or fixboot (mbr or bootrecord).
Failing that have you got a Linux live CD knocking about? |

| Stick it in the drive. Reboot, enter the BIOS and find your boot order, change that to look at the cd/dvd drive before the hard disk. Some motherboards let you press F11 at startup to do the same thing. |
