What the first thing you do when you get your brand new Koolance case?
Well if you are like me you take it apart!

Here she is all stripped down and ready for a little paint. I just had to spray some satin black on the inside of the case for this project. I mean with a name like Darkside you can't be all bright and shiny on the inside

Now a day later everthing is going back together.

The motherboard waits patiently to be installed.

But its going to be a long wait for the proc to arrive. At least all the other parts should be here by the end of the week. Maybe a lower end cpu will have to take residence for a little while.

Looking very nice!

So weaz, how did that blue painters tape do to protect the pre-painted parts from the spray? I'm going to paint the insides of the case I'm modding atm, but that's no problem since it doesn't matter what gets on the outside since it's gonna be sanded and painted anyway. But I want to also paint the insides of my Xaser eventually, but I don't wanna get any paint on the outside...see where this is going?

To answer the BIG question first. Yes, it is going to be a X2 4800+!! with SLI XFX 6800 GTs! With everything being watercooled. The delivery date as of right now on the chip is going to be mid-july. Confused

The model number of the case is: PC3-725 BLK and from what I can tell its going to be a bear for doing the wire management. But I think a little time and some effort it can be done.

I am also going to be using the single 120mm at the rear of the case to pull air across the motherboard's power circuitry and then out the back. Kinda like the OTES on the abit boards, just on a larger scale.

I will post more pics when I get the other parts in. Which should be later this week.

Yep...July 6th is the date I see now...Hmmm....did I mis-read the 6th for the 16th or did the date get pushed back Confused

They were supposed to ship on June 16th, so the date has been pushed back. Mad

HHMMMMM it looks like the OEM cpus are shipping on June 16th but the Retail is shipping on July 6th. And now for the major bad news Tigerdirect doesnt even list the 4800+ anymore. They have the 4600+ but not the big boy.

get the 4400+ and overclock it, its the same processor as the 4800+ just 200mhz slower.

Well...it does look like it may be a good system...i have my doubts if what you have is good enough for todays stuff though...the X2 is good, but tetris etc may cause some problems? Good luck, though, im sure it will do ok

ROFL.....nothing much to say about it...except its goin to be a bit KICK ASS!

I have plans for something similar to that myself, only I'll just be using the cheapest black case they sell at the local computer store, I wana spend as much cash as possible on the insides.

I'm not holding out much hope of getting an X2 chip anytime soon, I asked about the date the chip would arrive at one local store and got the response " The X-whatnow??"

Hey weaze, are you just gona be water cooling that chip or are you going to add a peltier to the cpu? be interesting to see what would be possible with some extreme cooling.

Keep us posted about any overclocking results you get once you find a CPU you can live with...........or keep ME posted, I wana know what to expect from my next upgrade

cue the music

The Rebel Alliance almost won out this time but due to supply issues the Empire has held their ground in this system(builders house).
The specs update is this:
-CPU- Pentium Extreme Edition 840 3.2 ghz Dual core.
-Motherboard- Asus P5ND4 SLI Deluxe
-memory- Corsair DDR2-1000 PC8000.

The video system stays the same. And to note the video cards were received last night and are now waiting for their water blocks to come in. Once they are in house they will be dismantled and painted to match eveything else.
