Alright guys, I have Windows Server 2003 and I have installed all IIS stuff for FTP. My problem is I can't login to the FTP, besides that, in order for me to get to the site I have to type in my computers LAN IP address. If I type my assigned IP from ISP it goes to my router.
I made my own dynu domain but I am also not sure how to set it up with my FTP. When I type my local IP address it brings up the FTP menu but doesn't let me logon!
Any ideas are appreciated thanks. |

Don't worry this is normal. Your router doesn't support loopback therefore you have to type in the LAN IP address. Try accessing it outside the network (i.e. use dialup or a friend's PC then it should work fine by entering your WAN IP (the one your ISP gave you)).

Make sure you have entered the WAN IP (the one your ISP issues you, if it's static, or use a dynamic IP service such as www.no-ip.com if you have a dynamic ip) address into your Dyn dns domain settings NOT your LAN IP.
Then make sure your router is forwarding the correct ports to the right PC otherwise nobody will be able to get through to your FTP server.
Once you've done this, report back. If you are really having trouble then IM me and I'll be able to walk you through. I'm rather good at that (well at least better at walking through than explaining).
Good luck. _________________
