Help! Aerocool Gatewatch gone funny...

Suppose the first time I installed the 3v Li-ion battery in my Aerocool Gatewatch I put it in wrong way round, would that screw it forever? The display comes up, but it resets the time and fan settings whenever I turn my PC off. The same thing happens whatever way round the battery is. So is it a fucked battery, or have I fucked it myself by installing it wrong the first time?

I'd say it's just a bad battery. Installing it backwards shouldn't hurt anything, DC voltage only flows one way. Try a new battery, that should fix you up. Batteries lose power over time, and who knows how long that coin cell was sitting around waiting for a home?

(If you're really cheap.....go to Radio Shack and ask them to test it for you. If it reads low, buy a new battery........if it reads good, then it might just be a bad fan conroller, so exchange it for a new one).
