Gateway driver download trouble anyone?

Got a new laptop.....Gateway DX 400 x....or something...

P4 2.0
256 PC 2100
ATi Mobility M6
30 gig
blah blah

Looking to Install XP Pro on it, but when i went to gateway to DL the dirvers, it told me i didnt have permission to access the DL pages.....im guessing its a proxy thing so i will try from home.....but anyone ever have this problem?

also...on eof the fans in this thing makes a HELL of a lot of noise..... and i cant seem to find the replacement...anyone come across it...let me know

the popup is allowed....but it tells me the access is denyed.....hmmmm ill try from home

but i dont know if its the main fan or what....there are three visible fans in this thing.....

Agh...........I don't know if you'll be able to find a replacement, outside of Gateway. If they have one, it won't be too much more than a generic fan, if I recall right.

And yeah, if you're behind a firewall, running on a proxy server or business network, you won't be able to access Gateway from your work machine. You'll have to do it from home.........the old excuse is that they didn't want competitors downloading info from their site, although and schmuck with a lick of common sense could download, burn to CD, take to competitor, blah blah.

They have that stuff locked up tight. Try it from home, you shouldn't have a problem.

ok cool thats what i was figuring....lol

And yeah i know about the fan....mundocorp is a part of gateway....or at least sponsored by.....but i still gotta figure out WHICH fan is borked
