Getting my fx-55 in a week and selling this pc. I can get another P4 3.0c for a good price.

My question is, I want to build another GAMING system and have these 2 chips to choose from plus the 3.0c:
1. AMD Athlon 64 3400+ @ 2.2Ghz Socket 754 1MB Retail Box
2. AMD Athlon 64 3500+ @ 2.2Ghz Socket 939 512K Retail Box

I have a agp card so if i get socket 939 the mobo has to have agp not pci.
I have also herd the 1 mg cache on the 3400 helps alot on gaming.\
Input wold be appreciated.

^^What he said.

Would you be able to sell the graphics card and get a PCI-Ex?

Ok i picked up the 3500+ chip and paired it up with the ABIT AX8 mobo, 450w psu, a X800 Pro and 2 x 512 DDR400 Dual Channel. Sound like a good gaming setup?

on the 64 thing, if you dont have a specific need for it, then it may be more trouble than its worth. But if you have a copy of XP Pro that you are going to be able to use after you activate the 64bit license, and you dont mind doing a full reinstall then it might be worth a try just to check out. And make sure you will have drivers for all of your devices before you do the 64bit install.

The mobo won't come with 64-bit drivers? If its a amd mobo i would of thought it had them. I have my audgy and ati drivers for 64-bit.

That sounds a little warm, but I'm no AMD expert.
what are you using for a heatsink, and what kind of paste are you using?
