OK the headset is NOT a usb device correct? and it has the little 1/8" plugs? What kind of sound card do you have? _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

It's not a problem with the headset. It's just a mic and headphones, after all......no setup CD needed.
The error message you're getting is related to Windows and your game. Whatever voice chat program you're using needs DirectVoice installed. Typically, this comes with whatever voice chat/VoIP software you're using.
Try this:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;810686
Also check with your game maker to see if they have a solution. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

Out of interest...what game were you trying to set up and with what software?
My microphone died on me this weekend, though the headphones still works (turns out my bro chews the wire )
A good test for the mic would be to run windows sound recorder (start >> all progs >> accessories >> entertainment) then start it recording and see if it detects any sound, you may have the same problem as me...a lose wire etc. _________________ »4 RS«»1Ж «»1 DENE«»1 FREAKIN LAME OH«»1 MONEY MONEY«

Nah, he has a pretty common problem (I'm guessing CounterStrike, myself), I ran into it myself a few years back. I'm not even sure if MS is making the Game Voice thing anymore, I haven't seen one in stores in ages. _________________ Big enough to scare you |
