round out the site more.
add a securtiy forums section where people can post about new security apps.
or about bugs on their systems and so forth.
how about a place for guest posting where a guest can post without registering?
i was drawn here by a posting about the thermaltake modular power supply review from majorgeeks to here.
i looked at that p/s and was impressed but it was too much for my own needs.
i don't have power requirements as high as what some of the young people have with their gaming machines.
i like what you all set in place here.
and i sympathize with you about loosing the domain name to onternet gangsters that took it over after you were making some changes. _________________ MrClarke... |

thanks Clarke, and WELCOME TO TWEAKNEWS!!!!
not a bad idea about bringing in a security section. Nate...thoughts?
We've had some issues with guests in the past, which is the main reason for our fright of repeat offenses. Although a specific section might not be such a bad idea.....check back on the boards when you can, share your knowledge, and gain some more....but mostly, HAVE FUN!! I hope you find our little community to be what youre looking for in a forum....=D _________________

i'm a lot older than the gaming type.
i just found this cause i was looking for a review and i found it.
i do participate as im able.
i was just engaged in a topic that lasted quite a while at the AMD support site as i had received a mobile processor from an E-vendor that got some in and was selling the athlon xp 3200+ OEM's at $117.00 but it turned out to be not an athlon xp3200+ but the mobile cpu that had the bridges cut with a laser.
it would only clock ar 2450 MHz,that was abit suspicious and got the whole bunch involved and found that there are a lot of instances of this and not limited to the north american continent.
it started in asia and then went to the U.K. and finally got here.
they are replacing it after i even had the local lawenforcement involved.
they never should have sold these counterfeit cpu's, and they never should have sent one to an investor of AMD like me, cause i took it personally when i figured out what the darn thing was.
the vendore told me he had a whole box full of them that had been returned and i wish i felt that he would not re-sell the thing, but i do think that if given the chance ,he will sell it to some unsuspecting buyer.
but since he is doing the right thing by taking it back and not refunding my money, which is what he wanted to do,i'll not mention the vendor online again until he does something for me to lose confidence in him again.
i asked for a genuine cpu as a replacement.
i'll plug it in the m/b and test it with cpuid and then i'll know right away.
later, _________________ MrClarke... |

i can't edit the text of the previous post.
and there is a typo there.
the text should read, it will only clock at 1450 MHz. _________________ MrClarke... |

I got from your first post that you were more collected than the gaming type, and DAMN, about that AMD thing. What i couldnt gather is, did they DID in fact make right on this situation? _________________

the vendor is doing everything right now.
they are going out to buy a genuine amd xp3200+ to send to me.
they don't want to sell any of their current stock. _________________ MrClarke... |

Good to hear they are making right, seems to be a bit more rare these days, frighteningly enough.
Again, welcome to the boards. _________________

Welcome Mr Clarke,
You seem to have a good head on your shoulders and to know your stuff. I am glad you have chosen to join our little forum. Please stay and share the knowledge you have and maybe learn something from us as well. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

Again, welcome to the boards. |
all i have is an email today saying they are working on it.
i know that they have the cpu that i returned by fedex.
but there is a problem now, and that is that there is a scarcity of the xp3200+cpu's now, and they are going to have to pay for a PIB from AMD. that's a boxed unit if they are going to replace my cpu.
that's going to cost them, and they may have to step to the plate and pay full price for one.
we'll just have to wait and see.
it's not over until it's over. _________________ MrClarke... |

welcome to TN, MrClarke and im glad to see that you are getting a new 3200 although the whole "scarcity" of 3200xp+ kinda sounds like a stall tactic.
If you feel the need to get more familiar with TN, togglehead can help you out, hes good at getting very familiar.
